LONDON (Reuters) – Members of the environmental movement ‘Just Stop Oil’ threw soup on Vincent Van Gogh’s ‘Sunflowers’ at London’s National Gallery on Friday, causing minor damage to the painting’s frame.

A video released by the group, which opposes any new gas or oil projects in the world and has been organizing protests in London for two weeks, shows two women throwing two cans of Heinz tomato soup on the table.

The two activists then glued themselves to a wall.

“There is some minor damage to the frame but the painting was spared,” the museum said in a statement.

Police said the two women had been arrested.

“Specialized officers released them and they were taken into custody at a police station in central London,” a statement posted on Twitter read.
