EPC Groupe raided by the French Competition Authority


PARIS, May 20 (Reuters) – EPC Groupe, a French company manufacturing and distributing explosives, announced on Monday that it had been the subject of a surprise visit and seizure operation by the services of the French Competition Authority.

“This intervention is part of an investigation into the sectors of manufacturing and distribution of explosives for civil use and drilling-blasting for quarries and public works in France,” indicates the company in a communicated.

It intends to cooperate “fully with the Competition Authority” and will assert its rights when the time comes “if necessary”.

The general rapporteur of the Competition Authority announced in a press release on Friday, without specifying the names of the companies, that an unannounced visit and seizure operation was carried out on Thursday May 16 in the manufacturing and distribution sectors. explosives for civil use and drilling-blasting for quarries and public works.
