The Sony group and the company that owns LEGO take part in the capital of Epic Games. The company behind Fortnite has spoken about this new fundraiser.
The Epic Games bride has never looked so beautiful and continues to be wooed everywhere. In particular by Sony who, alongside Kirkbi (LEGO), are increasing their stake in the company. A common goal: to bite into the Metaverse cake.
Epic Games: for a few billion more
It is via a press release thatEpic Games announces that it has raised a whopping $2 billion from Sony and Kirkbi, the Danish company that owns the LEGO Group. The two firms have each invested one billion to “to accelerate the construction of the metaverse”. Yes, it will not speak to everyone.

Fortnite’s company is now valued at $31.5 billion.
Two heavyweights as investors
Twice, Sony interfered in the capital of Epic Games for a total of 450 million dollars. And for LEGO, the stakes are just as important. The money injected is indeed used to form a metaverse for children. A safe place where they can express their creativity. If this project manages to assimilate the aura of bricks, it will be the jackpot for the Danish company (and Epic Games).
Apart from the metaverse, Epic also has the support of prestigious studios for its Unreal Engine 5.
