Angèle Faces Off Against Rose
At the Institute, Angèle arrives at the management office to share her change of heart regarding the market gardener position. Struggling financially, she confesses the possibility of losing her farm and expresses her willingness to take the risk of encountering Rose occasionally. Antoine suggests she take some time to think it through.
While Antoine walks Angèle out, Rose unexpectedly appears. She rushes toward Antoine, demanding explanations. He reveals that he plans to hire Angèle as a market gardener due to the urgent need for one. However, Rose accuses him of hiring Angèle solely out of attraction, dismissing the potential repercussions.
Despite Rose’s accusations, Antoine remains resolute in his choice. He visits Angèle’s farm to deliver the good news about her new job. Overjoyed, she invites him out for drinks to celebrate, but Antoine politely declines, stressing the necessity of maintaining a professional boundary moving forward. Angèle is receptive, although she can’t help but flirt with him a little.
Meanwhile, Rose confides in Clotilde about her concerns. She recalls the last time she encountered Angèle during a trial where Angèle testified against her. Rose fears that Angèle might influence Carla against her. Soon after, Carla joins her mother, who explains the unfolding situation.
At the Economat, Coline suspects that Angèle’s acceptance of the market gardener role is merely a ploy to get closer to Carla. Angèle clarifies her intentions to connect with Carla and free her from Rose’s influence. Just then, Carla arrives, ignoring Angèle completely as she directs a message through Coline. Carla firmly states her disinterest in having Angèle in her life and threatens to take action if she approaches Rose.
In class, Carla sulks, upset with Bérénice and Souleymane. She is angry at her girlfriend for suggesting Angèle for the market gardener role and at Souleymane’s father for hiring her. Carla is determined not to engage with her aunt.
Later, Angèle confronts Rose, accusing her of concealing Carla’s existence. As Rose forbids Angèle from connecting with her daughter, Angèle retorts that Carla will eventually hear her out. She reveals that she still possesses the journal she kept during her pregnancy, intending for Carla to read it to understand her mother’s true nature.
Malik’s Inflated Ego
Even after being exposed by the Master’s students, Malik persists in writing harsh critiques of their culinary creations under Teyssier’s name. While Lionel contemplates a confrontation, Quentin proposes a different strategy—flattering Malik’s ego to secure favorable reviews.
At the Workshop, Lionel and Tom visit the Second Year students as they prepare for Chef Armand’s class. The boys suggest that Malik take a breather while they handle the recipe. Malik agrees, but Maya intervenes, sending Lionel and Tom away to let her partner focus on their dish.
Later, as Maya plates the dish, Malik critiques the coarse mushroom cuts. She calls Chef Armand to taste their creation, and the chef compliments their efforts but notes a lack of truffle flavor. Malik chastises Maya for not slicing the mushrooms finely enough and insists on approving all preparations before informing the teachers. Frustrated, Maya storms off.
Enzo expresses to Teyssier that Malik’s reviews are detrimental to the Master’s students. Clotilde supports this, mentioning that she caught Malik acting overly authoritative in her class, despite not being a skilled enough cook to do so. Regardless, Teyssier insists Malik must be present during the tasting of the concepts and help select the new chef for the laboratory restaurant.
Alice’s Romantic Dilemmas
In the park, Alice shares with Hortense and Stanislas her list of potential romantic partners from the Institute, with Gaëtan topping her list. Hortense informs her that Gaëtan is recently single after his breakup with Salomé two weeks prior. Stanislas probes Alice about her attraction to Gaëtan, and she reveals her interest mainly lies in his Coffee Shop, with plans to become intimate there, preferably in the morning.
Alice invites Gaëtan for lunch in the park to inquire about his Coffee Shop and explore the feasibility of her plans. However, she soon realizes that some factors aren’t ideal. When Gaëtan brushes a fallen leaf from her hair, Alice becomes uncomfortable and decides to leave.
She later confides in Hortense that she’s choosing to abandon her initial plan, as she can’t tolerate physical contact.
Later on, Stanislas keeps Alice company in the kitchen while she bakes. An accident leads to her burning her finger, prompting Stanislas to fetch a first aid kit. Initially, Alice resists the ointment due to her dislike of its texture on her skin, but Stanislas persuades her to try it. To her surprise, Alice finds the sensation isn’t as unpleasant as she expected.
