The US soccer association announced that the disputes with the women’s national team, which had been bitterly fought in court for several years, had been settled and that “equal pay” would be introduced. The pioneer Megan Rapinoe, probably the most famous footballer in the world, spoke of a “wonderful day” and wrote: “The next generation will now experience justice.”
