Equal Pay in the American Football Association

After many years and at times an irreconcilable struggle, America’s women’s footballers have achieved their goal of equal pay. In Switzerland, the realities are different.

2/22/2022 was not only a popular marriage date, but also a date of historical importance in the USA. The US soccer association announced that the disputes with the women’s national team, which had been bitterly fought in court for several years, had been settled and that “equal pay” would be introduced. The pioneer Megan Rapinoe, probably the most famous footballer in the world, spoke of a “wonderful day” and wrote: “The next generation will now experience justice.”
