Equinor: Awards two drilling contracts to COSL for $369 million


(CercleFinance.com) – Equinor announces that it has awarded two drilling contracts to COSL Offshore Management AS, for a total value of $369 million.

As part of this contract, two platforms belonging to COSL Offshore Management, namely the COSLPromoter and COSLInnovator platforms, will be used on the Norwegian continental shelf.

COSLPromoter was already under contract with Equinor but will start the new contract in the first quarter of 2025. The firm contract is for one year, with options for four additional years.

For its part, the contract for COSLInnovator covers a period of two years from the second quarter of 2025, with options for three additional years.

The contract contract includes the operation of the casing, the remotely operated vehicle (ROV), the management of offshore waste and the maintenance of the cement unit. Mobilization and demobilization costs are also included.

“We plan to drill many production and exploration wells in the coming years. We are happy to have a drilling capacity that will enable us to achieve our high ambitions,” commented Mette H. Ottøy, Purchasing Manager.
