Equinor: Signs a gas sales contract in Poland


(CercleFinance.com) – Equinor today announced a long-term gas sales agreement with Polish company PGNiG.

The 10-year agreement covers a volume of approximately 2.4 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas per year which will be exported through the new ‘Baltic Pipe’.

The Baltic Pipe project connects the Norwegian gas export system to Poland via Denmark and facilitates the transport of Norwegian gas by pipeline to Poland.

“I am very pleased that through this agreement we can extend our offering as a reliable energy partner to Poland,” said Irene Rummelhoff, Equinor’s executive vice president of marketing, midstream and processing. .

“The contracts we have just signed relate to gas that will be delivered to Poland through the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline, which will considerably strengthen the energy security of our country,” adds Iwona Waksmundzka-Olejniczak, managing director of PGNiG.
