Alphacool has designed a block intended for certain graphics cards GeForce RTX 4090 to make them as thin as possible.
NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4090 is a fearsomely powerful card, there’s no doubt about it. That said, in addition to an inaccessible price, it suffers from a second defect: its size.
Compatible with a handle of RTX 4090
To remedy this problem, the Alphacool company has developed a very special watercooling block. In itself, the water cooling of a graphics card is nothing new. In the case of the RTX 4090, there are already a lot of blocks.
This Alphacool ES GeForce RTX 4090 is referenced n° 13395 and is distinguished first by its limited compatibility… Not really a good point. Indeed, at present, it is only available for rare models of RTX 4090, the Inno3D X3 OC, iChill X3, iChill Frostbite and iChill Black.
There would also be a question of compatibility with the RTX 4090 SG model signed Galax and the GFA2 RTX 4090 SG. Problem, most of these references are difficult to find in France, so it is not certain that you can benefit from the work carried out by Alphacool.
Compactness and efficiency
To be completely honest, the German brand does not intend its block for individuals anyway and is more aimed at the professional market with the possibility of installing up to four graphics cards and four watercooling blocks within a single and same pc.
With a classic card, this would obviously be impossible, but Alphacool managed to produce a surprisingly compact block. In length, it hardly overflows the PCB of the graphics card, but it is above all in finesse that it impresses. It allows the use of a single PCI Express slot, when some cards condemn four.
Note that it is not about AiO, only block. It will therefore be necessary to purchase and install all the necessary equipment for complete and functional water cooling. Tested by Optimum Techthe Alphacool block is not only compact, it is also very effective.
Thus, our colleague was able to measure a temperature in load of a maximum of 58 ° C on the GPU, with a memory which peaked at 62 ° C. Finally, the famous hotspot on the map did not exceed 66°C. Completely convincing results.
