Pop star Taylor Swift also set a new record with the streaming start of her concert film “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour”.

Pop star Taylor Swift (34) is also celebrating success on the Disney+ streaming service with her concert film “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour”. The work about Swift’s currently ongoing mega tour, which has already generated revenue of over 260 million US dollars in cinemas, has now also become the most successful concert film to date on the Disney Group’s streaming service, as reported by the US industry newspaper “Variety”, among others.

Swifties Stream Over 16 Million Hours of ‘The Eras Tour’

Taylor Swift’s music film was only released worldwide on the Disney+ streaming service in the early hours of March 15th. In the first three days after its release, fans of the singer streamed an incredible 16.2 million hours of “The Eras Tour,” as the Disney company announced.

This brings the approximately three and a half hour concert film to 4.6 million “views”, a metric that Disney+ defines as the total streaming time of around 16 million hours divided by the running time of the film. Other concert and music films available on Disney+ such as Elton John’s (76) “Farewell From Dodger Stadium”, Beyoncé’s (42) “Black Is King” or Peter Jackson’s (62) lavishly produced Beatles documentary “The Beatles: Get Back” leave Swift look old with these numbers.

Taylor Swift is continuing her “Eras Tour” in Germany in 2024

The Disney company is said to have acquired the worldwide rights to “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” for a mere $75 million, as “Variety” reported in February. When it was released in cinemas, “The Eras Tour” became the most successful concert film in cinema history to date.

The singer herself is also taking her acclaimed “The Eras Tour” to Germany in July 2024. From July 17th to 19th, Taylor Swift will give three concerts in Gelsenkirchen, on July 23rd and 24th she will perform in Hamburg, and on July 27th and 28th in Munich. Tickets for the concerts were sold out within half an hour.
