A fusion couple. Eight years have passed since they metbut Éric Dupont-Moretti and Isabelle Boulay continue to experience a close love, despite busy schedules. On one side, a criminal lawyer, elevated to the rank of Minister of Justice in 2020. On the other, a Quebec singer who divides her life between Paris and Canada, where her 15-year-old son lives. No matter, their love transcends geographical and professional constraints... which nevertheless accumulate! From this Friday March 1st until March 22nd, Isabelle Boulay will be on tour across France and Canada with his show From the Americas and France. On this occasion, the artist granted an interview to our colleagues from Closerduring which she did not lack to praise his companion, his pillar.
“He is out of the ordinary. He’s a fascinating person. He has filiation values that match mine.” she confided, specifying that the latter should be present on March 8 at the Grand Rex to support her during her Parisian show. A great music lover, Éric Dupont-Moretti is particularly fond of Italian songs, notably I think of you by Lucio Battisti covered by Claudio Capéo and The death of ’56 by Mia Martini. However, his favorite song from his partner’s repertoire remains If you buy me a drinkoriginally performed by Serge Reggiani before being covered by Isabelle Boulay: “It’s a song about indulgence, about non-judgment“, explains the singer, adding with emotion: “It looks like him.”
Politics and music, a sometimes delicate combination
If Isabelle Boulay expresses his pride in his companionshe nevertheless remains aware of the challenges involved in the latter’s job: “When you are with a famous person, we are seen with another prism. And I am very aware of that. We can’t blame people. But I [reste] the same woman”, she admits. She adds that she will not never an obstacle to the career of Éric Dupont-Moretti : “When you share your life with someone who has an essential function for others, we can’t hold it. I understand that the president wants to have a man like him at his side.” Especially since for her part, Isabelle Boulay spends half of each month in Canada to take care of her son. The rest of the time, she works intensively on various projects. “Even if he wanted me to belong only to him, I have a life as an artist, a son…”
