Indeed, according to information reported by Corsica-Morning, Éric Zemmour was allegedly targeted by around fifteen Corsican activists. According to our colleagues, “a reception committee made up of around fifteen left-wing activists, notably from the Communist Party and the CGT” would have set out in pursuit of the writer. They would have exhorted him by shouting: “Fascisti fora” (which means “Fascists outside”). They also allegedly shouted: “Cleared” And “Corsica is not yours”. interviewed by Corsica-Morning, shortly after this altercation, Eric Zemmour declared that he would not allow himself to be intimidated by “violent fools”.

An electoral campaign marked by dissension?
On March 26, the newspaper Point highlighted the tensions that would have arisen between Marion Maréchal, the head of the Reconquest list for the Europeans, and Éric Zemmour, who created this party. These tensions began to take shape from the start of the campaign, according to our colleagues. The main reason being that the leader of Reconquest would tend to monopolize the media sphere to the detriment of his collaborator.
Interviewed by RTL on April 2, Marion Maréchal denied these rumors by stating: “You know, these are not tensions, but debates“, she first wanted to clarify. “As in any party [politique]we don’t agree on everything, but we agree on one thing […] we can create a surprise during these elections [européennes, ndlr]. And neither I nor Eric – obviously – want to spoil thisa, she then declared, confidently. Far from there. We are even very optimistic about our ability to be able to surprise voters and commentators on June 9.“
