(CercleFinance.com) – The Schrodinger Energy team from Bayero University in Kano, Nigeria, won third place in the 2022 Ericsson Innovation Awards (EIA) competition.
The team was awarded for developing REINLIGHT, a portable water disinfection system that reduces many health risks and works in areas without electricity.
Participants were invited to propose solutions and create products and technological solutions to address challenges such as food waste, water purity and renewable energy sources.
Peter Olusoji Ogundele, Country Manager of Ericsson Nigeria, said: ‘Their portable water disinfection system not only addresses a critical issue facing many communities, but also demonstrates the spirit of innovation and the potential young talents in Nigeria. ‘
