(CercleFinance.com) – Ericsson announces a project to build a next-generation smart manufacturing and technology center in Tallinn (Estonia).
This new facility, the result of an investment of some 155 million euros (169 million dollars), will have as a priority ‘sustainability and operational efficiency’, underlines Ericsson.
The idea is indeed to consolidate all of Ericsson’s operations in Estonia into one state-of-the-art 50,000 m² smart hub, the site housing test labs, warehouses, production lines and offices.
As a first step towards this goal, Ericsson, through its Estonian subsidiary, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire property to build this smart hub, with the transaction expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2024, subject to conditions. agreed.
The fully connected hub will be located in the Ülemiste district of Tallinn, the largest business park in the Baltics. The new European hub should be operational in early 2026, with Ericsson aiming to obtain LEED* Gold certification during the same year.
