(CercleFinance.com) – Ericsson announces that it has partnered with e& (formerly Etisalat Group) on a major two-year expansion project, aimed at improving the energy efficiency of the network thanks to the deployment of the latest range Ericsson radio systems.
The initial phase of deployment has seen a substantial reduction in power consumption of up to 52% with the Ericsson 6626 radio compared to previously deployed radios.
This expansion will help the Emirati operator scale its Radio Access Network (RAN) and support efforts to break the energy curve, which is critical to reducing its carbon footprint across the region.
