Eritrea begins major offensive in Tigray

The fighting follows a five-month ceasefire. During these peace talks had been within reach.

Eritrea’s army has launched a major offensive on the border with Ethiopia’s civil war province of Tigray, apparently with the support of the Ethiopian army and regional militias. The offensive meant an escalation of the fighting that had broken out again at the end of August after a five-month ceasefire.
