Erol and Caroline were a couple for a total of 26 years. They met in Paris, the city of love. Four years later they got married and tied the knot. The happiness in love was completed by the birth of the two sons Marlon and Elyas. But the relationship cracked. The couple split up once before in 2017 and only got back together after two years.

At the beginning of August 2022, the “Murder Commission Istanbul” star explained to Annika Lau, 43, on GALA on TV on RTL what path he found with his wife after the crisis: “It has to be a team, it has to be a little like one Clockwork works, even if it sounds so mechanical. Sander also reported a change in the family structure at this point. “We’re in a long-distance relationship now,” he revealed. A decision primarily related to son Marlon, who is studying in Paris. “I wanted to rent him an apartment and it’s so expensive there. And then I said: ‘Ok, before we spend so much money, let’s buy an apartment.'” A step that surprisingly initially initiated a geographical distance from Caroline : “Now Caro and the little one say: ‘I also want to go to Paris, I also want to go to Paris’ – because the in-laws live right around the corner. And now I always fly either to Starnberg or to Paris.” A long-distance love that now seems to be a thing of the past.
