Back to the beginning: Erol Sander has signed a model contract. Even before his acting career, he was active as a dressman.

Actor Erol Sander (53) has a new job – again in front of the camera, but as a model. Like the “Murder Commission Istanbul” star in an interview with the “Bild” newspaper tells, he is now under contract with the MGM model agency. The Hamburg company works with renowned labels such as Chanel, Dior and Gucci.

Sander’s Setcard was created on Wednesday, the report says. “I was a model before I started acting,” the 53-year-old tells the newspaper. That was in 1988, shortly before his Abitur. Now he has just moved from Munich to Starnberg and found a box with his old recordings: “I thought, why don’t I model at all anymore? I really missed that.”

Sander: “It can also be pizza and beer”

He doesn’t really pay much attention to his appearance: “I used to be very disciplined, now I see everything more relaxed.” If he is in the mood for something, he treats himself to it: “I always do it the way my body wants, it can also be pizza and beer from time to time.” He would also pose for underwear, as he did in Mauritius when he was 22 years old. Nevertheless: “Today I can no longer present a six-pack. But if you want it …”

Born in Istanbul, his real name is Urcun Salihoglu, he came to Munich from Turkey with his mother and sister when he was five. After initial successes in French television series, he made his breakthrough in Germany in the 2000s. He was best known for his role as investigator Mehmet Özakin in the ARD crime series “Mordkommission Istanbul”, which has since been discontinued.
