What is erotic literature?
While the term was generally only used to refer to dime novels and the like, this literary genre is much more than that. In general, it includes works that aim to have an exciting effect and strive for a certain claim. Erotic literature thus belongs to pornography, but within this genre it is distinguished from it – sometimes more, sometimes less clearly.
