ESC 2020: Who is going to Germany for the music competition?

Whirlwind about the German contribution to this year's Eurovision Song Contest: The ESC final will take place on May 16 – who will then sing for Germany in Rotterdam is not yet clear. So far it has not been announced when a preliminary decision will take place. All competition songs and performers must be known by March 9, 2020.

According to a report by the "Bild" newspaper, the responsible NDR is said to have tipped the show for the ESC preliminary decision and has already selected a direct candidate for the ESC. When asked by the news agency spot on news, the NDR said: "We cannot confirm the report in the 'Bild' newspaper. The NDR will provide initial information about the plans for the ESC at the end of this month. Until then, we ask for your patience."

Debacle last year

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, the German duo S! Sters was only able to take 25th and penultimate place. ARD entertainment coordinator Thomas Schreiber (60) then announced changes in the selection process. At the end of January, the ESC fans will probably find out how the 2020 election will proceed.
