Last Friday, December 22, Prime Video put online the first season of Escort Boys, a series written and directed by Ruben Alves (La Cage Dorée) which very quickly succeeded in attracting subscribers to the American platform.
Carried among others by Guillaume Labbé and Simon Ehrlacher (whom you have undoubtedly discovered in the France 2 series Coeur Océan), this fiction composed of 6 episodes follows the adventures of four friends who decide to get out of trouble to embark on a escort career. Throughout their encounters, they will have to face their fears and their doubts in order to finally succeed in rebuilding themselves.
Will there be a season 2?
The last minutes of the first season of Escort Boys leave many questions unanswered, suggesting that the series could be entitled to a season 2. Questioned by AlloCiné, Ruben Alves revealed that for the moment, Prime Video does not had not yet ordered new bursts of episodes. “But the desire is there” he wanted to clarify.
For his part, Guillaume Labbé had revealed to our colleagues from First that Ruben Alves was already thinking about the continuation of the series, the idea being that the filming be done quickly in order to avoid there being “two years of waiting between season 1 and season 2…”
As for whether the actors would be up for participating in season 2 of Escort Boys, Guillaume Labbé told AlloCiné that he would reprise his role without hesitation. “Of course season 2 has to tell something”, he explained to us in an interview.
“But since the team would remain the same, I’m sure the sequel would still be just as good.” “There’s one thing that’s really good, it’s that the team is great”, added Thibaut Evrard, who plays Ludo. “And when filming goes well, you want to get back on track for a new season.”
It remains to be seen whether Prime Video will give the green light for a season 2 of Escort Boys. But given the excellent critical response to the series, which obtained an honorable rating of 3.8/5 on Allociné, there is a good chance that the platform will be tempted by a new burst of episodes.
