(CercleFinance.com) – EssilorLuxottica announces that after the death of its Chairman Leonardo Del Vecchio on Monday morning, its Board of Directors has appointed Chief Executive Francesco Milleri as its new Chairman of the Board, until the end of his current term.
Furthermore, the Board of Directors took the decision to assess the relevance of appointing a lead director from among its independent members. A final decision will be made on this by the end of the year.
The Board of Directors confirmed Paul du Saillant in his role as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and co-opted Mario Notari – who was a director of Luxottica Group from 2015 to 2018 – as a new director.
Mario Notari will be considered a non-independent director of EssilorLuxottica’s board of directors. His appointment will be submitted to the vote of the shareholders at the next general meeting.
