Esso: scheduled shutdown for maintenance of the Fos-sur-Mer refinery

(AOF) – From January 20, 2024, the production units at the Esso refinery in Fos-sur-Mer will be successively shut down as part of a major scheduled shutdown of the refinery. “These operations have been prepared in such a way as to limit nuisance of all kinds,” the company said. Scheduled technical shutdowns allow maintenance work to be carried out on equipment normally in service. Some equipment will also be replaced by the latest generation equipment.

This major planned shutdown will also make it possible to carry out numerous energy efficiency and thermal integration projects to reduce CO2 emissions and thus prepare the way for the decarbonization of Esso’s activities.
