Essonne: a second young person files a complaint after a violent arrest

On the night of May 9 to 10 in Athis-Mons, a city in the southern suburbs of Paris, three young alcoholics were checked by officials and then placed in police custody for acts of contempt and rebellion. One of them, aged 19, has already filed a complaint with the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) for violence during his police custody – he has been prescribed four days of ‘ITT (total incapacity for work).

A complaint for “acts of torture”

He also filed a complaint with civil action against X for “acts of torture committed by persons holding public authority, in meetings, with the use of weapons” and with the aggravating circumstance of racist motive, with the dean investigating judges from the court of Evry.

He denounces acts of violence during his police custody in Juvisy-sur-Orge, such as “a very large number of punches in the face” and “several taser blows to the left arm and shoulder”. One of his friends present in the car also filed a complaint for “willful violence aggravated by a person holding public authority”, denouncing the violence which would have been committed during the arrest, in Athis-Mons, a neighboring town of Juvisy.

“Twenty punches” received

According to the complaint, filed on Friday and consulted by AFP, this 22-year-old was “swept in the legs” and received, on the ground, “several kicks by BAC officials”.

Still according to the complaint, filed by his lawyer Arié Alimi, he also received “about twenty punches” in the face before being taken into police custody where he heard the “screams” of the first young person to have filed a complaint. .
