Peeling cassava bought in supermarkets, she realized that the vegetable had been emptied and filled with a white powder, which turned out to be cocaine.
Alerted, the gendarmes went to the store with a sniffer dog. On the stalls, they discovered thirteen modified cassava roots containing a total of 4.3 kg of cocaine, packaged in fifteen blocks.
No custody at this stage
This quantity of drugs is worth 300,000 euros on resale at retail and 140,000 euros on purchase, in France from semi-wholesalers of narcotics, specifies Le Parisien.
The supermarket staff were interviewed but no member was taken into custody. At this stage, the investigation has not been able to determine how these drug-filled vegetables could have ended up on the stalls, available to customers.
