Ethereum: New staking trend hits record high

Current data from CryptoQuant shows that Ethereum staking has reached a new all-time high, with over around 27 percent of all Ether now staked. This trend indicates the strong trust that investors have in blockchain.

The ongoing improvements and scaling of Ethereum, particularly through the integration of DeFi protocols such as EigenLayer, have increased the attractiveness of staking. The high level of investor participation shows their determination to contribute to the security and thus the success of the network. The total value of all staked ETH has also reached an all-time high.

Ethereum restaking is breaking records

The record in terms of staking correlates closely with the ever-increasing demand for restaking. With more than $13 billion in TVL, restaking pioneer EigenLayer reached a new all-time high and took second place among Ethereum’s most popular applications. The protocol’s mainnet is imminent. If this were to succeed from a technical point of view, it would be conceivable that the previous TVL king Lido Finance would soon have to leave his throne behind him.

The fact that the popularity of restaking is still not waning is due to the numerous airdrops that users hope to get from it. The launch of the Ether.fi restaking project in March serves as an example of this. This rewarded Restaker with an allocation of ETHFI tokens. The smallest (175 ETHFI) was now worth more than $1,000. Some restakers are therefore likely to have benefited greatly even before the launch of EigenLayers, which is hotly traded as Ethereum’s largest airdrop.
