Euphoria Season 3: No new episodes for the HBO series? After contradictions, finally clarity

“Euphoria” is one of the most popular series of recent years among younger viewers. And not without reason. Ultimately, the series addresses numerous topics that primarily affect young people. After season 2 aired in January 2022, fans are now eagerly waiting for season 3.

As recently as November last year, there was talk that new consequences could be expected in 2025. In the meantime, there were frequent rumors that there would be no third season. But an HBO spokesperson denied this to Variety. HBO and “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson are still working on a third season, but there are currently too many hurdles.

Production on season 3 had to be paused repeatedly due to unforeseeable events. First the writers and actors’ strike intervened and then in July 2023 the tragic death of Angus Cloud, who played the drug dealer Fez in the series, occurred. In addition, actors from the series such as Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney and Hunter Schafer have grown into real Hollywood stars since the series began and have a correspondingly busy schedule. This makes it harder to develop a production plan for the shoot.

In the meantime, the cast has been released, so to speak, and can devote themselves to other projects. The age of the stars is another factor. A lot of time has passed and it shows in the cast. Many of you can no longer pass as teenagers, which is why a jump in time is almost unavoidable in season 3. The scripts are currently still being worked on. So it may take some time before Season 3 is actually realized.
