Euphoria season 3: what future for Nate (Jacob Elordi)?

After an eventful season 2 for Nate, Jacob Elordi has expressed his desires for the future of his character in the next season of Euphoria.

Even if it ended on a note of hope for Rue (Zendaya), season 2 of Euphoria casts doubt on the future of its main characters, in particular Nate (Jacob Elordi). The latter has denounced his father Cal (Eric Dane) to the police and dropped Cassie (Sydney Sweeney), who takes the wrath of her best friend Maddy (Alexa Demie).

It’s hard to know what creator Sam Levinson has in mind for this character in season 3, which has already been commissioned by HBO, but Jacob Elordi shared his feelings and desires for Nate during an interview with to Deadline during the Euphoria FYC Event:

“I think he might be at his wit’s end and he has to face his demons or even God. It’s kind of the last thing he can do.

[Nate] is so unpredictable and so is Sam, but I’m happy to see him go any direction. I have every confidence in Sam, he’s a bit of a mad genius. So wherever he takes Nate, I’ll be happy to go.”

Even if he trusts Sam Levinson, Jacob Elordi still hopes that his character will evolve a little more and that the plot of Euphoria will take his heroes away from high school: “Maybe my only hope is to not have to walk silently down the hallway of an establishment anymore. I’m getting older.”

For the moment, no information has been released on season 3, but we could very well imagine a time jump and a post-high school plot. Especially if we take into account Rue’s speech at the end of the last episode of season 2 where she indicates that she “stayed clean the rest of the school year.”

Sam Levinson may want to start the plot of the third chapter a year after the events of season 2 and, Nate being in the final year, that would mean that the character played by Jacob Elordi could no longer be in high school. We will have to wait for the first information on season 3 to find out more.
