“Euphoria” star Angus Cloud died at the end of July 2023 at the age of just 25. The cause of death has now been determined.

There was great sadness when news of Angus Cloud’s (1998-2023) unexpected death went around the world at the beginning of August. Now a court in Alameda County, California, has announced the cause of death. Accordingly, the star known from the series “Euphoria”, who was only 25 years old, died of an accidental overdose.

As the US industry magazine “Variety” writes, citing the medical examiner’s office, it was an “acute poisoning due to the combined effects of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl and benzodiazepines.” The report goes on to say that the Oakland police received an emergency call at around 11:30 a.m. (local time) on July 31st.

However, on site they could only declare Cloud dead. The actor is said to have struggled with the death of his father, who had died just a week earlier. The family also wrote this in a statement at the beginning of August: “Last week he buried his father and had to struggle with this loss. The only comfort we have is the knowledge that Angus is now with his father again who was his best friend.”

Known from HBO series “Euphoria”

Cloud became particularly known for the role of drug dealer Fezco in “Euphoria”, which he played from 2019 to 2022. There he stood in front of the camera with stars like Zendaya (27), Hunter Schafer (24), Jacob Elordi (26), Sydney Sweeney (26) and Eric Dane (50).

Cloud made another film with the “Scream” directors

According to Variety Cloud is also said to have finished work on one of his upcoming films. This was confirmed by an anonymous source from the production environment. The as yet untitled thriller from “Scream” directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin (45) and Tyler Gillett (41) will probably be one of the last in which Cloud will be seen. Starring alongside him were Melissa Barrera (33), Kathryn Newton (26), Dan Stevens (40), Kevin Durand (49), Alisha Weir and Will Catlett.

According to current status, the film is scheduled to be released in April 2024. However, the publication could be postponed. According to the report, Universal did not want to comment on whether Cloud’s death could affect production. However, since work on the film is not yet finished, the ongoing Hollywood double strike by screenwriters and actors could lead to a postponement.

In addition to the still untitled thriller, he had also previously completed work on the upcoming horror film “Your Lucky Day” and “Freaky Tales”, in which Pedro Pascal (48) and Ben Mendelsohn (54) star.
