Serious things can begin. While the last group matches of Euro 2024 ended on Wednesday evening, notably with the surprise qualification of Georgia, it is now time for the final phase of the competition. All the European leaders will therefore be there for the round of 16, despite some nations with a disappointing level of play such as Italy, England and to a lesser extent the Blues of Didier Deschamps.
With real surprises during the group matches, the final table is quite unbalanced. On the one hand, we find a large number of favorites, on the other hand, smaller teams who now have a real chance of achieving a historic run.
Group A: Qualified: Germany and Switzerland / Eliminated: Scotland and Hungary
Group B: Qualified: Spain and Italy / Eliminated: Croatia and Albania
Group C: Qualified: England, Denmark and Slovenia / Eliminated: Serbia
Group D: Qualified: Austria, France and the Netherlands / Eliminated: Poland
Group E: Qualified: Romania, Belgium and Slovakia/ Eliminated: Ukraine
Group F: Qualified: Portugal, Türkiye and Georgia / Eliminated: Czech Republic
A shock for the Blues from the eighth
Concerning the program for the next round, hostilities will begin on Sunday July 30 at 6 p.m. with England who will face Slovakia. This match will be followed by the meeting between Spain and Georgia at 9 p.m. The next day there will be an undecided eighth between Italy and Switzerland (6 p.m.), then Germany will host Denmark (9 p.m.). On Monday July 1, France will have a hard time facing Kevin de Bruyne’s Belgium at 6 p.m., while Portugal will face Slovenia in the evening.
Finally, the last two round of 16 matches will take place on Tuesday, July 2. The surprising Romania will face the Netherlands (18:00), while Austria will play against Turkey (21:00). The quarter-finals will then begin from Friday, July 5.
As during the group stage, several broadcasters will offer these matches. The match between Mbappé and others will thus be available on TF1, in the same way as the Spain-Georgia and Austria-Turkey posters, while the England and Portugal matches will be broadcast on M6. Note that BeIN Sports will offer all the matches to its subscribers.
