Euro zone: -0.7% industrial production in October


(CercleFinance.com) – In October 2023 compared to the previous month, seasonally adjusted industrial production decreased by 0.7% in the euro zone and by 0.5% in the EU, according to Eurostat, after declines by 1% and 0.8% respectively in September.

In the euro area, the production of capital goods fell by 1.4%, that of intermediate goods and durable consumer goods by 0.6%, while that of durable consumer goods increased by 0.2 % and that of energy of 1.1%.

Compared to October 2022, industrial production fell by 6.6% in the euro area and by 5.5% in the EU, after annual declines of 6.8% and 6.1% respectively observed in September 2023.
