Euro zone: fall in retail sales in December


(CercleFinance.com) – In December 2022, seasonally adjusted retail sales volume decreased by 2.7% in the Eurozone and by 2.6% in the EU, compared to the previous month, according to Eurostat, after increases of 1.2% in both cases in November.

Compared to December 2021, the calendar-adjusted index fell by 2.8% in the euro area and by 2.5% in the EU. The average level of retail sales for the year 2022, compared to 2021, increased by 0.7% in the euro zone and by 1.1% in the EU.
