Euro zone: Improved investor morale in November

BERLIN, Nov 6 (Reuters) – Investor sentiment in the euro zone has recovered more than expected since the start of the month, with future expectations at their highest level since the start of the year, a survey shows Monday.

The Sentix index for the euro zone fell from -21.9 points in October to -18.6 in November, better than the -22.2 estimated by analysts polled by Reuters.

The subindex of future expectations in the currency bloc rose this month to -10.0 points, its highest level since February and its second consecutive monthly improvement. It was -16.8 the previous month.

“The reduction in negative dynamics is a first sign of improvement. To remove all doubts, however, these figures must return to positive territory,” said Manfred Huebner, Managing Director of Sentix.

The sub-index on the current situation changed little, going from -27.0 points to 26.8.

The survey was carried out among 1,203 investors between November 2 and 4. (Reporting Sarah Marsh; French version Claude Chendjou, editing by Kate Entringer)
