PARIS (Reuters) – Inflation in the euro zone slowed in February at an annual rate in line with the first estimate, show final data published on Monday by Eurostat.

Over one year, the consumer price index calculated according to European standards (HICP) came out at 2.6%, as indicated in the “flash” estimate and in the Reuters consensus. It increased by 2.8% in January.

From one month to the next, inflation in the 20 countries having adopted the single currency rebounded by 0.6%, a pace also in line with the consensus.

Excluding energy and unprocessed food products, inflation stood at +0.6% monthly in January, and 3.3% annually.
