Eurofins: a non-invasive preimplantation genetic test

(CercleFinance.com) – Eurofins announced on Wednesday the launch of a new non-invasive preimplantation genetic test for aneuploidies, a diagnosis that can identify chromosomal abnormalities in embryos.

The bio-analysis specialist points out that the technology called ‘PGT-A’ plays an important role in assisted reproduction by helping doctors to assess the chromosomal composition of embryos resulting from in vitro fertilization (IVF) and to determine abnormalities likely to lead to complications during pregnancy.

Eurofins specifies that the non-invasive diagnostic tool (niPGT-A) which has been developed by its Italian subsidiary Eurofins Genoma provides fertility centers with a precise alternative to the traditional PGT-A test, while avoiding need to resort to biopsies on the embryos.
