(CercleFinance.com) – Euronext announces that it has reached a definitive agreement for the sale of its 11.1% stake in LCH SA to LCH Group Holdings, for an amount of 111 million euros, a transaction which should be finalized beginning of July.
This operation results from the notification by LCH Group to Euronext of the exercise of its option to repurchase this stake, following the early termination of the derivatives clearing agreement existing between Euronext and LCH SA announced on January 16th.
In the third quarter of 2023, Euronext will realize a non-underlying capital gain of approximately 40 million euros, which will be exempt from tax. At the end of 2022, it showed a book value of 70.6 million euros for its 11.1% stake in LCH SA.
