LONDON, October 3 – British manufacturing activity remained in contraction in September and orders fell for the fourth consecutive month due to weaker external demand, final survey results from S&P Global showed on Monday. after purchasing managers.

The PMI rose to 48.4 after hitting a 27-month low in August at 47.3, but remains in contraction.

“In September, new export orders contracted at the fastest pace since May 2020, with reports of weaker demand in the United States, European Union and China,” said S&P Global.
