LAt the Versailles summit on 10 and 11 March, the 27 Member States asked the Commission to work to strengthen cooperation in defense matters. It was to develop “new incentives to encourage collaborative investment […] in joint projects and in the joint acquisition of defense capabilities”. Thierry Breton, the Commissioner in charge of Defense, seizes the ball on the rebound and unveils, on Wednesday, a package of measures in line with the expectations of the Member States, ahead of the European summit of May 30 and 31 which will be largely devoted to Defense.
