After the National Rally, Renaissance and Reconquest, it is the turn of rebellious France to launch its campaign for the European elections. 3,000 activists gathered in Villepinte to attend the meeting of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Manon Aubry and the other rebellious candidates. Insoumise France has decided to bet everything on international issues.

Throughout the day, the situation in Gaza emerged as the main theme of this campaign for the European elections next June. Rima Hassan, rebellious candidate and Franco-Palestinian activist, was welcomed like a rockstar despite her support for the Hamas actions of October 7.

Fear of the two conflicts to mobilize abstentionists

On stage, she asked for a minute of silence in tribute to the victims in Gaza, before attacking the European Union: “Europe must urgently put an end to the EU-Israel agreement since this agreement must remember, is conditional on respect for human rights. There is an urgency to sanction colonization which is the only obstacle to the creation of the Palestinian state.” A single Palestinian state, because Rima Hassan opposes the two-state solution. On the other hand, not a word all day about Israeli suffering, even when paying tribute to women victims of violence around the world.

On the war in Ukraine, Jean-Luc Mélenchon opposed the sending of French troops, suggested by Emmanuel Macron: “This is how this president, by believing to create, I don’t know what strategic ambiguity, managed to make a mess indescribable. Already with his own allies, but also with adversaries because we had Putin’s response.” La France insoumise is using the fear of seeing these two conflicts imported into France to try to mobilize abstainers on June 9, calling to vote for “peace”, a word he hammered home several times during his speech.
