European stock markets close higher ahead of US congressional elections

European stocks ended higher on Tuesday, after a quiet session where investors turned their attention to the United States, awaiting the outcome of the midterm elections and inflation in October.

The Paris Stock Exchange gained 0.39% to 6,441.50 points, Frankfurt rose 1.15%, Milan 0.86% and London gained 0.08%.
