European stock markets closed lower on Tuesday, as nervousness returned to the market, caught between a series of speeches from American central bankers and the publication of results from artificial intelligence giant Nvidia on Wednesday evening.

The Paris Stock Exchange dropped 0.67%, Frankfurt 0.22% and London 0.09%.
