European stock markets closed down on Tuesday, weighed down by slightly worse-than-expected figures in the Eurozone and still attentive to national elections in France and the United Kingdom.

Paris fell by 0.30%, London by 0.56% and Frankfurt by 0.69%. On the bond market, German and French interest rates were moving closer together, a sign of less investor distrust of France.
