European stock markets ended higher on Monday, in low trading volumes with an empty agenda, due to a public holiday in several countries and awaiting speeches from central bankers and activity indicators later during the week.

Paris and Frankfurt gained 0.35% and London 0.05%. Only Milan fell significantly (-1.62%), penalized by its banking stocks after a strong increase last week.
