European stock markets end up, supported by falling bond rates

European stocks ended slightly higher on Tuesday, supported by lower interest rates in the bond market and hopes of an end to rate hikes from the European Central Bank.

The Paris Stock Exchange gained 0.38% to 7,319.18 points, that of London 0.64%, that of Frankfurt 0.35% and that of Milan 0.34%. Around 3:40 p.m. GMT, European ten-year sovereign debt interest rates were about 0.10 percentage point lower than at their close on Monday.
