European stock markets open higher to start the week

European stocks opened higher on Monday as investors hoped central banks would be more lenient in their monetary tightening in the face of a slowing economy.

The Paris Stock Exchange took 0.52% to 6,105.20 points at 9 a.m. (0700 GMT), Frankfurt gained 0.76%, Milan 0.45% and London 0.20% in the first exchanges.
