European Swimming Championships: Grousset and Bonnet silver medalists

Frenchmen Maxime Grousset and Charlotte Bonnet both won the silver medal in their respective event. The 23-year-old swimmer first climbed to 2nd place in the 50-meter butterfly final, before his 27-year-old compatriot distinguished himself in the 100-meter freestyle and climbed on the second step.

First, French swimmer Maxime Grousset won the silver medal in the 50-meter butterfly. At 23, he ranked second with a time of 22 sec 97, behind the Italian Thomas Ceccon, crowned European champion in 22.89, and ahead of the Portuguese Diogo Matos Ribeiro (23.07).

Grousset qualified for the 100m freestyle final

In the process, the French swimmer Charlotte Bonnet also won the silver medal in the 100 meter freestyle at the European Championships in Rome. The Dutch Marrit Steenbergen (53 sec 24) won her first individual European title, ahead of Bonnet (53.62) and the Briton Freya Anderson (53.63).
