European Union: Borrell calls for more funds for military aid to Ukraine

PRAGUE (Reuters) – The European Union’s high representative for foreign affairs, Josep Borrell, on Friday urged the 27 EU member states to allocate more funds for military aid to Ukraine.

“I will ask the leaders to support the proposal for a new tranche for the European Peace Facility in order to continue providing military support to Ukraine, as well as to the training mission”, declared Josep Borrell on arriving at the EU summit in Prague.

On Thursday, during the inaugural meeting in Prague of the “European Political Community”, which brings together the Twenty-Seven and 17 neighboring countries, from Great Britain to Turkey, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky, who spoke by video link , called for a “European community of peace”.
