The former Prime Minister, whose political speech is rare, will participate at the end of the day in a stroll with Raphaël Glucksmann in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, indicated Aurore Lalucq (Place publique) and Pierre Jouvet (PS).

The name of the former Prime Minister has come up repeatedly in recent days as one of the political figures who could participate in a dialogue mission in order to calm the situation in New Caledonia, in the grip of several days of riots against a controversial reform of the electorate. Lionel Jospin, then Prime Minister, signed the Nouméa Agreement with the separatists and non-separatists in 1998, which provided for transfers of powers to New Caledonia and three referendums on independence, which were held in 2018 , 2020 and 2021.
