Between the National Rally and the bosses, it’s still not mad love. Thursday morning, the big favorite in the polls was interviewed by Medef, along with six other top candidates for the European elections on June 9. Despite its efforts, it is clear that even when Jordan Bardella replaces Marine Le Pen, employers are still reluctant to talk about the RN.
Shy applause and a polite welcome. At Medef headquarters this Thursday, Jordan Bardella was more Europhile than usual. He put on his pro-business costume to reassure the bosses. “Autarky is not possible. The question we must ask ourselves is how we trade with our partners with equal rules,” he declared in particular.
Bosses shy to express their opinion
But the history of the National Rally on the euro or Frexit has left its mark and the bosses who speak openly about the champion of the polls are cautious. “I think he held his place. He had an interesting posture. Now, indeed, we have seen a lot of evolution compared to the past. So that’s what is of concern today”, says Samual Thual, president of Actual group, a temp company.
When we talk about Jordan Bardella, the director of European affairs at Enedis, Rémi Garaude, gets away with a pirouette. “I look at them all. And I find them seasoned, trained, clear on energy issues. We congratulate ourselves for this awareness,” he says.
For Christine Goubet-Milhaud, the president of the French electricity union, hits the nail on the head when asked about Jordan Bardella’s performance. “I don’t speak out, I represent companies. We’re going to let everyone motivate themselves for this important election and go vote,” underlines the president.
Some positive comments. And a lot of tongue-in-cheek. There may be big bosses who vote for Jordan Bardella, but they don’t say it.
