Europeans: Jordan Bardella, “conquering the west”, advocates “union” in Royan

Jordan Bardella, favorite in the European elections, launched an appeal for “union” to the French “who discover” that the RN makes “the right diagnosis”, Saturday in Royan (Charente-Maritime), in a region that it has described as a land of “conquest”. After meetings in areas historically more favorable to the extreme right, such as Marseille, Montbéliard (Doubs) and Lécluse (North), the president of the RN ventured Saturday afternoon into a constituency where the party’s candidate had been beaten (with 48% of the votes) by that of the majority in the 2022 legislative elections.

“Unity makes France”

“I would like to address, today, those French people who believed for a long time to be preserved from the disintegration of France. To this France which had, until now, the feeling of doing well”, launched Jordan Bardella at the podium of the Palais des Congrès in Royan. “We will not change the situation of the country with habitual votes, we will not straighten out France by voting for the same people always,” he argued, repeating several times the slogan “unity makes France “.

The candidate, favorite in polls which credit him with around 30% of voting intentions for the June 9 election, targeted in particular “those elites who discover that we make the right diagnosis and sometimes that we have the right measures, but who perhaps do not yet dare to take the plunge. “I tell them: free yourself from conformity, from ready-to-think, join us and dare the patriotic reflex,” launched the 28-year-old candidate. Criticizing “mass immigration” at length, the head of the RN also castigated “punitive ecology”, denouncing for example offshore wind turbine projects which, according to him, risk “disfiguring” the Charente coastline.

Some 2,000 people were present according to the candidate, 1,300 according to the security service of the Royan convention center. “I like the personality of Jordan Bardella. He embodies youth, whereas I have never voted for a Le Pen. There is a renewal and that is very good”, declared to AFP Agnès, aged 60 and resident of Charente-Maritime, who wished to remain anonymous. “The west is a territory in which we are progressing and we want to conquer the west,” Jordan Bardella had warned a few hours earlier during a press point in Blaye (Gironde).
