Europeans: Macron denounces the “hypocrisy” of far-right parties who “advance masked”

“There is a form of hypocrisy, of a hidden project today of the extreme right which makes them progress, it is that they advance in disguise,” said Emmanuel Macron on X. He was answering questions on the social network of Internet users on Europe, a video that looks like a campaign clip less than a month before the European elections and while the Macronist list is clearly behind in the polls compared to the National Rally.

There is “no inevitability against the extreme right”

“Where the extreme right, five or six years ago, was saying ‘Brexit’, ‘Frexit’, ‘exit from the euro’, ‘exit from Europe’, they no longer dare to say it, but basically the project they are carrying out is the same thing,” added the head of state. And to insist that there is “no inevitability in the face of the extreme right”, urging, voter card in hand, to go to the polls on June 9. “What you can do for Europe is to go and vote and not give others the opportunity to choose your Europe,” he concluded.

Less than a month before the election, the RN, led by its president Jordan Bardella, is credited with more than 30% in the polls, the Macronist list of Valérie Hayer collecting 15 to 17%. To try to catch up, the presidential camp has called for mobilization and is trying to make the election “a referendum for or against Europe”.

The question that arises is: do we want to stay “inside or outside” of the European Union, declared Thursday Gabriel Attal while traveling in Brittany, a Prime Minister ordered by Emmanuel Macron to get as involved as possible in these European elections.
